Ohio Republicans Moving to Ban IVF & Birth Control?

CINCINNATI — Ohio Republicans are moving quickly after the Dobbs ruling with a bill that was introduced yesterday in the Ohio House that could ban birth control and IVF. Chabot’s friend and former colleague Rep. Jean Schmidt said she would consider offering legislation to ban birth control in Ohio. Rep. Chabot cosponsored a bill in the U.S. House that would do the same.

Democratic Nominee in OH-01 Greg Landsman: “Chabot and Schmidt want to control women and children. If Republicans take back the House, they will ban birth control and IVF. They seem determined to do it here in Ohio.”

When asked a straightforward question, Chabot “dove into a waiting car”. Congressman Chabot has a long legislative and personal history of working to ban abortion without exception. In the House, Chabot has previously cosponsored legislation to ban forms of birth control and IVF

Landsman: “Chabot won’t be honest with you. I will. I’ll never back down in the fight for the personal freedoms of all Americans. Central to this is the decision if and when to start a family. When I am in Congress, I’ll end this government overreach and vote to codify the rights afforded by Roe.”
